A Strong Voice in Support of Spaldwick Common Ground
We’re honoured to have received a letter of support from Ben Obese-Jecty MP, praising our plans to transform the village church into an inclusive, community-first space. His encouragement reflects the growing support behind Spaldwick Common Ground and our mission to revitalise village life for everyone.

We’re proud to share a recent letter of support from our local Member of Parliament, Ben Obese-Jecty, who has publicly backed the vision and plans of Spaldwick Common Ground.

In his letter, Ben describes the project as “an inspiring and much needed initiative for the village of Spaldwick and the surrounding area.” He praises the work done by our trustees and volunteers in creating an inclusive, multifunctional space—particularly highlighting how we’re making thoughtful and respectful use of the existing church building.

He also noted the absence of a traditional village hall or community centre in Spaldwick, and how this project presents “a practical and visionary solution”—revitalising a heritage site while meeting the evolving needs of a growing community.

This kind of public endorsement matters. It shows that what we’re building here isn’t just appreciated by our local community—it’s being noticed and championed more widely.

With the support of our MP, the Parish Council, the Church of England, and many residents, we continue to push forward with plans to develop a truly special community space.

Thank you to Ben for his encouragement—we’re more motivated than ever.
